Things to Think on ~ May 18, 2020

I was planning to do these quotes daily.  But I think I want to hold on to each one for at least a week.  Maybe these are little lessons that can help me more if I let them marinate.....

"I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read, and all the friends I want to see.  The longer I live, the more my mind dwells upon the beauty and the wonder of the world."  ~ John Burroughs

Who is John Burroughs?

Via Wikipedia ~ John Burroughs (April 3, 1837 – March 29, 1921) was an American naturalist and nature essayist, active in the U.S. conservation movement.[1] The first of his essay collections was Wake-Robin in 1871.
In the words of his biographer Edward Renehan, Burroughs' special identity was less that of a scientific naturalist than that of "a literary naturalist with a duty to record his own unique perceptions of the natural world." The result was a body of work whose resonance with the tone of its cultural moment explains both its popularity at that time, and its relative obscurity since.[2]

My friends are an oasis to me, encouraging me to go on.  They are essential to my well-being.
